Acupuncture & Infertility
PCOS often prevents the ovary from ovulating properly and is one of the major causes of infertility. From a TCM perspective, this is due to the body being unable to transform Yin into Yang, causing a dysfunction of fluid circulation inside the body . This can be improved by balancing Yin and Yang and regulating a smooth flow of Qi (energy) in order to resolve excess fluids in the body.
Endometriosis, another major condition causing infertility, is the formation of an endometrium tissue outside the uterus that should be shed each month during the menstruation cycle. In TCM it is considered to be a stagnation of the blood inside the pelvic cavity (often the uterus). It could be eased by improving the quality of the Blood and soothing Blood flow in the meridian running through the pelvis area.
Chinese Medicine regards health and illness from a different viewpoint to that of Western Medicine. The treatment not only addresses a patient’s presenting conditions but also supplements or removes, where appropriate, whatever the body is lacking or producing in excess. Therefore, it can also treat infertility where the cause is not so obvious, in terms of Western Medicine. It is also recommended for people who do not present major infertility problems but want to have conception at optimal health.
